On June 29, a new electric vessel "Peterhof" of the "Moscow 2.0" project began regular sightseeing routes in Nizhny Novgorod. The Minister of Tourism and Industry of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Sergey Yakovlev, emphasized that the development of new tourist routes is a significant component of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality." "The launch of the 'Peterhof' is a landmark event for our region. Now even more Nizhny Novgorod residents and guests of the region will be able to enjoy the beauty of sunsets, panoramic views of the historical center of the city, and picturesque Volga shores from the water. The vessel accommodates up to 140 people and reaches a speed of 15 km/h — these are optimal indicators to accommodate a large group of guests, take a one-and-a-half-hour river cruise at a comfortable pace, and get acquainted with Nizhny Novgorod's culinary traditions," said Sergey Yakovlev. The main feature of the new vessel is a full-fledged restaurant. During the cruise, guests can try dishes of traditional Russian cuisine. "The development of an eco-friendly fleet is one of our company's priority areas. Nizhny Novgorod is a city with a rich history, high tourist potential, and unique architectural heritage. Therefore, it is especially important for us to develop a modern river fleet here that is gentle on the environment. After the successful operation of the electric catamaran 'Ekohod,' we are launching a new electric vessel 'Peterhof' on the sightseeing route. I am confident that for its guests, cruises with a restaurant on board and picturesque views will become one of the brightest impressions of this season," said Yuri Kulikov, General Director of JSC "Vodokhod.Passenger Port."
Recall that since 2023, the electric catamaran "Ekohod" has been successfully operating in the Nizhny Novgorod region, which has already become one of the recognizable symbols of the city and is popular among residents and tourists. "Peterhof" continues the series of new electric vessels of the "Moscow 2.0" project. Today they are successfully operating in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The "Moscow 2.0" project is a modern reinterpretation of the legendary "Moscow" type riverboats. The vessel combines proven engineering solutions with modern technologies, ensuring a high level of comfort, safety, and environmental friendliness. On board, guests can enjoy a restaurant, spacious panoramic lounges, open decks, and a modern electric power plant that provides a smooth and virtually silent ride. All vessels in the series are united by a single naming concept and are named after outstanding historical sites and cultural heritage objects of Russia.
The national project "Tourism and Hospitality" is the successor to the national project "Tourism and the Hospitality Industry." Its implementation is aimed at developing tourist infrastructure, producing domestic products for the industry, and training personnel for the sector.
