The Nizhny Novgorod Ministry of Transport wants to transfer tariffs for intermunicipal routes.

      On June 30, 2026, at 17:25, the Society proposes to transfer the right to set tariffs for intermunicipal routes to the Ministry of Transport of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. A corresponding draft law has been submitted to the Legislative Assembly.

      The routes in question connect different cities and districts of the region. As noted in the explanatory note, the government of the region currently sets these tariffs.

      The project proposes to transfer these powers to the authorized executive body of the region—the Ministry of Transport and Highways.

      The authors of the draft law believe that the adoption of the document will ensure regular bus services on intermunicipal routes in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      It was previously reported that an increase in the cost of public transport fares in Nizhny Novgorod due to the fuel situation is not expected. At the same time, the Ministry of Transport has received requests to raise fares for unregulated tariffs, particularly from carriers in Bogorodsk.
