As reported by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Irina Volk, a resident of Nizhny Novgorod, along with accomplices, organized the operation of pseudo-medical centers in the Kanavinsky and Soviet districts. From February 2019 to March 2021, people were offered free health diagnostics and consultations there. After examinations, clients were informed that they supposedly had serious illnesses. It was claimed that treatment was only possible at these centers, but on a paid basis. To pay for the services, citizens were assisted in obtaining loans. Then, procedures were conducted that were presented as therapeutic and supposedly contributed to recovery. According to the investigation, procedures were then carried out as supposedly therapeutic, but none of the participants in the scheme had medical education. Devices that do not belong to medical equipment were also used. A total of 83 people were affected. The amount of damage exceeded 6.2 million rubles. The materials of the criminal case have been sent to the Soviet District Court for substantive consideration. Earlier, this same court had already considered the case against three alleged accomplices.
