A rabies quarantine has been imposed in Lenin Sloboda in Kstovo.

      On June 25, 2026, at 14:09, Society: A quarantine for rabies in animals has been established in the territory of the rural settlement of Lenin Sloboda in the Kstovo district of Nizhny Novgorod. The corresponding decree from the governor has been published on the legal information portal.

      According to the document, the settlement has been recognized as unfavorable for rabies. The epicenter of the epizootic has been identified as the personal subsidiary farms of two citizens. There, the treatment of sick susceptible animals, visits to the territory by outsiders, the import and export of susceptible animals (except for those vaccinated against rabies at least 179 days before export), their movement and regrouping, as well as the removal of skins from animal carcasses are prohibited.

      In the unfavorable area, fairs, exhibitions, and other events related to the gathering and movement of animals are additionally prohibited. The export of animals is restricted, except in cases of their direction for slaughter or if vaccination is present within the established timeframe. The capture of wild animals for export to zoos is also prohibited.

      At the same time, another decree from June 17, 2026, has lifted the rabies quarantine in several municipalities of the region. Restrictions have been removed in the working settlement of Vyyezdnoye in the Arzamas district, the villages of Osinki in the Vorotynsky district, Tukay in the Spassky district, and Shishadeevo in the Pochinkovsky district.
