      At the request of the State Housing Inspection, the management organization refunded the owner of a non-residential premises in Nizhny Novgorod an overpayment for electricity in the amount of 755,120 rubles and 34 kopecks. The owner of the premises on Kosmonavta Komarova Street filed a complaint with the State Housing Inspection about double billing for electricity. According to her, requests to the management company to recheck the calculations yielded no results. The inspection conducted a documentary check and established that an electronic metering device measuring active and reactive energy was installed in the premises. The management organization summed up the readings and issued a bill taking both indicators into account. The expertise showed that such a calculation was unlawful: according to the electricity supply contract, the owner was only required to pay for active energy. A proposal was sent to the management company to eliminate the causes and conditions that contributed to the administrative offense. The proposal was fully executed, and a recalculation was made for the amount of 755,120 rubles and 34 kopecks. As reported by Alena Novikova, head of the department for monitoring utility payment charges at the State Housing Inspection of the Nizhny Novgorod region, more than 2,500 complaints about unlawful utility charges have been received by the agency since the beginning of the year.
