      Half of the initiatives of Nizhny Novgorod residents planned for implementation in 2026 under the governor's project of initiative budgeting "It's up to you!" have already been completed in the Sormovsky district. As previously reported by Mayor Yuri Shalabaev, 17 facilities have been fully completed in Nizhny Novgorod to date - these include repaired roads, sports grounds, a football field with a running track, a mini-stadium with a hockey box, children's playgrounds, and a renovated sidewalk next to the school area. The progress and quality of work on the project, as well as the correspondence of results to residents' expectations, are personally monitored by the heads of district administrations at the request of the city head Yuri Shalabaev. Thus, the head of the Sormovsky district administration, Svetlana Gorbunova, conducted an inspection tour together with State Duma deputy Artem Kavinov, territorial coordinator of the "It's up to you!" project Mikhail Morozov, and deputies of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma from the "United Russia" faction. "This year, ten initiatives of Nizhny Novgorod residents are being implemented in the Sormovsky district. The sports grounds at schools No. 79 and No. 85 were completed back in May. Today we looked at three more completed facilities - a children's playground on Fedoseyenko Street, 38, an asphalted passage on Furmanova Street, and a universal sports complex at school No. 156 named after B.I. Ryabtsev. Thus, half of the facilities in our district under "It's up to you!" have been completed: five more initiatives from residents are in progress. Among them are the construction of a children's playground on Svetloyarskaya Street, the repair of the asphalt surface at kindergarten No. 393, the repair of the road on Novye Polyanki Street, as well as the repair of assembly halls in school No. 9 and lyceum No. 82," Svetlana Gorbunova reported. The first inspection point was the children's playground near house No. 38 on Fedoseyenko Street. Here, a play complex "Elf Village," swing seats "Nest," double swings, a seesaw, and a wooden sandbox, as well as benches, were installed. "We all voted together for this playground and are very happy that our dream has come true. Now the children have a place to play! All the elements are colorful, diverse, and most importantly - safe!" shared local resident Tatiana Sokolova. City Duma deputy Pavel Pashinin agreed with her: "A wonderful improvement has been made here: a children's playground and swings have been installed. More than one and a half thousand Sormovites voted for this playground. The "It's up to you!" project is working - residents see how the district is changing, becoming more comfortable and well-maintained." The next facility checked by the commission was the road on Furmanova Street from house No. 2 to house No. 40. Here, the contractor updated the road surface over a length of about 500 meters. Residents are already actively using the new road. "We were looking forward to this repair. We decided to act through the "It's up to you!" project, gathered an initiative group, and here is the result - we have a wonderful new road! We express our special gratitude to the district administration and builders for their responsiveness: they always answered our questions and tried to finish all the work as quickly as possible," said Valentina Kozlova. According to Nizhny Novgorod City Duma deputy Mikhail Ivanov, behind every square meter of the repaired road stands the vote of a specific resident. "More than 1.5 thousand people voted for the repair of Furmanova Street. Sormovites actively support the "It's up to you!" project and see the results," he noted. The inspection concluded at the third building of school No. 156 named after B.I. Ryabtsev, where a new multifunctional sports ground was installed. The contractor completed the full cycle of work: from preparing the base to installing modern seamless rubber flooring with markings. The universal complex, with an area of 600 square meters, is intended for playing volleyball and basketball, and is also equipped with a workout area with monkey bars, outdoor exercise equipment, and pull-up bars. "My husband and I actively participated in the voting and even involved relatives because we really wanted to get a new playground. The children are happy, everyone is satisfied. The result is excellent!" said Anna Korotkova, the mother of a school student. Territorial coordinator of the "It's up to you!" project Mikhail Morozov added that all inspected facilities - the road, children's playground, and sports ground - were completed with high quality and on time. "The initiatives of our residents have been fulfilled. Nizhny Novgorod residents are satisfied, and that is the most important result," he said. "Over the past five years, more than fifty initiatives of residents have been implemented in the Sormovsky district under the "It's up to you!" project. New sports and children's playgrounds, landscaping, and roads in the private sector have appeared thanks to the activity of the Sormovites themselves. Together we can really do more," noted State Duma deputy Artem Kavinov following the tour. As previously reported by the city head Yuri Shalabaev, this year under "It's up to you!" in Nizhny Novgorod, 78 initiatives will be implemented for a total of over 340 million rubles in various areas: children's and sports playgrounds, roads, lighting, and others.
