The former head of Dzerzhinsk commented on the deadly drone attack in Nizhny Novgorod.

      June 24, 2026 17:14 Society The former mayor of Dzerzhinsk, who now holds the position of head of Samara, Ivan Noskov expressed his condolences and support to the residents of Nizhny Novgorod, who experienced a massive drone attack on the morning of June 24. The politician commented on the incident on his social media.

      Let us remind you that as a result of the drone strike, a residential building caught fire, resulting in the deaths of two people. Two more injured individuals were hospitalized, and their lives are not in danger. A total of 23 enemy drones were shot down over the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      In addition, localized damage to residential and industrial infrastructure has been identified. Specialists are currently assessing the scale of the consequences. The Investigative Committee of Russia has initiated an investigation.

      This morning, the city where I once worked was subjected to a massive drone attack. Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod region are not foreign to me, and I sincerely regret what has happened, Ivan Noskov wrote.

      The head of Samara wished Governor Gleb Nikitin and Mayor Yuri Shalabaev strength and resilience in the current situation. He also expressed confidence that the victims would receive all necessary assistance and that the damages would be addressed in the near future.

      Our enemies know little about history: no one has ever succeeded in scaring and dividing Russia. Wishing a speedy recovery to the injured, and strength and courage to the families and loved ones of the deceased, the politician stated.
