A rabies quarantine has been imposed in the village of Vorotynsky district.

      On June 24, 2026, at 09:55, Society In the village of Petrovsky in the Vоротынский district, a quarantine for rabies has been established. The corresponding decree from the governor has been published on the official legal acts publication portal. The entire territory of the village has been recognized as an unfavorable point. The epizootic focus has been identified as the adjacent territory of the house on Ozernaya Street. During the quarantine, it is prohibited to treat sick susceptible animals in the focus, as well as for outsiders to visit the area. An exception has been made for specialists from the state veterinary service, personnel involved in eliminating the focus, workers caring for the animals, and residents living there. The import and export of susceptible animals are also prohibited. Export is allowed only in two cases: if the animal has been vaccinated against rabies within 179 calendar days prior to departure or is being sent for slaughter to a specialized enterprise or equipped point. Furthermore, it is not allowed to move or regroup animals, remove skins from their carcasses, or hunt susceptible animals, except in cases of regulating the population of hunting resources. Within the entire unfavorable point, fairs, exhibitions, and other events related to the movement and gathering of animals are prohibited. Their export is also restricted— the same exceptions apply as for the focus. The capture of wild susceptible animals for export to zoos is also prohibited during the quarantine period. It was previously reported that the shooting of foxes was permitted in the territory of the public organization "Perevozsky District Society of Hunters and Fishermen" due to the detection of rabies cases in the region and the introduction of quarantine in the village of Yagodnoye.
