Nizhny Novgorod authorities want to postpone the launch of the ban on the sale of vapes.

The project has been posted on the regional government's website for regulatory impact assessment. The developer is the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of the region. The explanatory note states that the purpose of the regulation is to protect citizens' health from the effects of tobacco smoke and the consequences of tobacco and nicotine-containing product consumption. The bill provides for the adjustment of the deadlines for the entry into force of the regional law dated May 29, 2026, No. 76-Z, and the determination of its validity period. Recall that at the end of May, the Nizhny Novgorod parliament approved an initiative for a complete ban on the retail sale of vapes, liquids for them, and other devices for consuming nicotine-containing products. It was expected that the law would come into effect on September 1, 2026.
