The Nizhny Novgorod family has been recognized as one of the best student families in Russia.

      June 22, 2026 14:44 Society Maria and Arthur Samarin, natives of the Nizhny Novgorod region and graduate students at Lomonosov Moscow State University, were awarded a special prize "Graduate Student Family" at the II All-Russian Festival of Student Families. The award ceremony took place in the Lomonosov building of the university as part of the results of the "Student Families of Russia" competition, the university's press service reported. The award was presented to the Samarins by the Chairwoman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko and the rector of MSU Viktor Sadovnichy. Among the best student families in the country, the family from the Nizhny Novgorod region was specifically recognized. The couple lives in a student dormitory and is raising a son. Maria is actively involved in community work and is developing a charitable project "Mom Nearby" in the Nizhny Novgorod region. She also became one of the first graduate students to receive a payment upon registering for pregnancy within the framework of the national project "Family." The festival brought together student families from all over Russia. Representatives of federal authorities and leaders of the country's leading universities participated in the plenary session. The special award given to the Samarins recognized their active family and community position. It is worth noting that in the Nizhny Novgorod region, at the initiative of Governor Gleb Nikitin, regional support measures for young families are in place as part of the "FOUNDATION" program.
