The Federal Antimonopoly Service and marketplaces are curbing speculative resale of gasoline.
June 22, 2026 13:37 Economy The Federal Antimonopoly Service, together with digital platforms, is taking measures to prevent speculative resale of fuel against the backdrop of increased demand. Thus, the "Avito" service has temporarily hidden advertisements for fuel sales until the placement rules in this category are adjusted. The sale of automotive fuel is prohibited on the marketplaces Ozon and Wildberries. Attempts to create listings for such products are blocked at the moderation stage, before they appear on the showcase. The agency reminded that it continuously analyzes the economic justification of the components of fuel prices, including transportation, storage, and sales. In case of violations, the service takes responsive measures. In addition, unscheduled inspections of large oil traders have been conducted in the wholesale market for signs of possible collusion in trading. As a result, a case has been initiated regarding violations of the competition protection law concerning three companies. The FAS established facts indicating the coordination of actions by organizations when concluding transactions in exchange trading. According to the service, the anticompetitive agreement was aimed at generating income in particularly large amounts through regular resale of gasoline and diesel fuel at inflated prices. Specific instructions have been sent to the territorial bodies of the FAS. They are instructed to strengthen control over compliance with antimonopoly legislation when selling fuel to farmers, including from oil depots, oil storage facilities, and gas stations. The service has also sent requests to "TD Neftmagistral" and the "Trassa" gas station network. The companies must provide information on the weighted average prices for gasoline and diesel fuel, as well as the volumes of their sales at gas stations by June 26. Earlier, residents of Nizhny Novgorod were explained why the price for the same gasoline differs at gas stations. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
