Setting a RECORD — 186 teams in Gorodets

      Nizhny Novgorod Hydroelectric Power Station (a branch of PJSC "RusHydro") supported the 3x3 basketball tournament "Cup of Gorodets" as part of the "Streetball Gorky" league. A record number of teams participated in the tournament — 186! In total, over 700 athletes from all over the Nizhny Novgorod region competed in 13 age categories. The youngest participants were 10 years old, and the oldest category had no age limit. This year, for the first time, the tournament was held in collaboration with partners, and next to the basketball courts, a street workout complex and a stage for breakdancing were set up. "We have been holding games in Gorodets since 2014, and during this time, almost every basketball enthusiast has had the chance to visit this beautiful city. Of course, none of this would have happened without the financial support of the Nizhny Novgorod Hydroelectric Power Station," says Ilya Khayretdinov, chairman of the Regional Public Organization "Basketball Federation of the Nizhny Novgorod Region." Additionally, during the tournament, letters of appreciation from the Ministry of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod Region were awarded for the development of basketball.

In March, large-scale children's swimming competitions were held in honor of World Water Day. This year, assistance was provided to the Zavolzhsky FOK for commemorative prizes for the winners of children's sports competitions. For several years, the hydroelectric power station has supported the men's volleyball team "Energia," representing the city of Zavolzhye in the Nizhny Novgorod region championship. Employees of the branch participate annually in corporate sports competitions. A hockey team has been organized from among the employees of the Nizhny Novgorod Hydroelectric Power Station, representing the enterprise in corporate hockey league games.
