      Dear parents! When buying a bicycle for your child, study the traffic rules with them. Due to the increasing number of cyclists on the streets during the summer, including minors, the State Traffic Inspectorate reminds that it is necessary to strictly follow the traffic rules to avoid accidents. Rules for cyclists that both adults and children should know (Chapter 24 of the Traffic Rules of the Russian Federation): - the movement of children under 14 years old on the roadway is PROHIBITED; - the movement of cyclists aged 7 to 14 must be carried out only on sidewalks, pedestrian and bicycle-pedestrian paths, within pedestrian zones; - the movement of cyclists over 14 years old must be carried out on bicycle or bicycle-pedestrian paths; - cyclists over 14 years old are allowed to ride along the right edge of the roadway in the absence of a bicycle or bicycle-pedestrian path. In this case, the minor cyclist must study the traffic rules and only after that ride on the roadway; - cyclists crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing must dismount and cross the road, following the requirements provided for pedestrian movement; - when riding at night or in conditions of insufficient visibility, cyclists are recommended to carry items with reflective elements; - it is prohibited to ride a bicycle without holding the handlebars with at least one hand; - it is necessary to use protective gear – a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, as they will protect against serious injuries in case of a fall; - it is not advisable to listen to music through headphones while riding a bicycle as they distract from the traffic situation. Dear parents, when buying a bicycle for your child, study the traffic rules with them, teach them riding techniques, provide the child with protective gear, analyze and, if necessary, adjust the route for the minor cyclist's ride, and remind them of safety rules before each bike ride.
