Nizhny Novgorod region will receive more than 16 billion rubles for the construction of a campus.

      June 22, 2026 16:06 Economy Over 31.5 billion rubles will be allocated from the federal budget for the creation of a network of modern university campuses as part of the national project "Youth and Children." The order for the distribution of funds among the regions was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. Funding is provided in the federal budget for 2026-2028. Support will be given to entities whose applications have been approved by the Ministry of Education and Science. Among them are the Republic of Bashkortostan, Nizhny Novgorod, Sakhalin, and Chelyabinsk regions. According to the document, Nizhny Novgorod region is allocated 2.9 billion rubles in 2026, 4.46 billion rubles in 2027, and 9 billion rubles in 2028. As noted by Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with deputy prime ministers on June 22, the allocated funds will allow for the completion of campus construction in Nizhny Novgorod, Ufa, Chelyabinsk, and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk within the established deadlines and timely commissioning of the facilities. The new campuses are being created as multifunctional spaces with coworking areas, technoparks, classrooms, sports facilities, libraries, and housing for students and staff. The projects will expand opportunities for research, improve the quality of education, support regional development, and strengthen the connection between the city and the university. Funding will be partially provided by the regions and businesses in the form of public-private partnerships and concessions. By the president's directive, it is planned to open at least 40 campuses by 2036.
