Nizhny Novgorod region has entered the top 15 regions by population income.

This is evidenced by the results of a study by analysts from "RIA Novosti." The basis was the data from official statistics for the past year. In particular, the median incomes and the cost of a fixed set of goods and services, the ratio of which to each other was 2.26. People living below the poverty line have average per capita monetary incomes below the official threshold. Last year, there were 158,049 such residents of Nizhny Novgorod, or 5.2% of the population. Compared to 2024, their number decreased by 0.4%. Overall in Russia, the median salary is enough for 2.19 fixed sets of goods and services. 6.7% of the country's residents found themselves below the poverty line. The Nenets, Yamalo-Nenets, and Chukotka Autonomous Okrugs topped the rating. At the bottom of the list were the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, Tuva, and Ingushetia.
