The Nizhny Novgorod TV tower will shine with patterns of folk crafts on June 21.

      On June 21, 2026, at 10:32 AM, Society: On June 21, the Day of Folk Arts and Crafts, a special architectural and artistic lighting will be turned on at the television tower in Nizhny Novgorod. The illumination will operate from 9:30 PM to 10:00 PM. The festive light decoration has been prepared by the RTRS branch "Nizhny Novgorod Regional Radio and Television Transmitting Center" in collaboration with the regional Ministry of Tourism and Crafts as part of a partnership project. Recognizable motifs of Nizhny Novgorod folk arts and crafts will be used in the decoration of the city's tallest structure - Balakhna lace, Cossack filigree, Chkalov lace, Gorodets and Khokhloma painting. A scrolling line indicating the festive date will also appear on the media facade. The Day of Folk Arts and Crafts was established by a decree of the President of the Russian Federation in 2022 and is celebrated every year on the penultimate Sunday of June. The initiative to formalize the date at the federal level belongs to the Nizhny Novgorod region. In the region, the professional holiday of industry workers has been celebrated since 2013.
