      Almost half of the monthly precipitation norm may fall, according to weather forecasts, next week in Nizhny Novgorod. The rainiest days will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, when up to 35 mm of precipitation is possible, with the monthly norm for June being 73 mm. This week, Thursday was the rainiest day, with about 10 mm of precipitation recorded in the city. As reported by the Department of Transport and Road Management of Nizhny Novgorod, nearly 4,000 cubic meters of water were pumped out from the streets of the city over the past week. "We are closely monitoring the weather forecast. Before the rains begin, standby pumping equipment and road workers will be organized in areas traditionally prone to flooding, so that water pumping and cleaning of stormwater drains can be carried out promptly. Additionally, during rainy weather, drainage channels and ditches are under special control, and their cleanliness is also monitored regularly," the department stated, adding that during a sudden heavy downpour, local water accumulation may occur, which will either drain into the storm sewer within a short time or be pumped out using special equipment. At the same time, monitoring of slopes prone to landslide processes continues.
