A 32-year-old resident of Arzamas lost 380,000 rubles after a conversation with a man who introduced himself as an employee of the bank's security service. Under the pretext of protecting her account from suspicious activity, he convinced the woman to transfer all her savings to a dictated phone number. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region.
According to the victim, the unknown person spoke about an allegedly recorded attempt to illegally withdraw money. To preserve her funds and undergo some kind of "declaration," the caller suggested urgently transferring her savings to the account he specified. Following the caller's instructions, the woman sent 380,000 rubles.
It later turned out that the money went to the fraudsters. The victim was aware of such scams from media reports, but during the conversation, she believed the criminal and lost her vigilance. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the theft of funds under the article "Fraud." Police are currently identifying those involved in the crime. Law enforcement reminds residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region: bank employees never ask to transfer money to "safe accounts" or phone numbers. If you receive such a call, you must immediately end the conversation and contact the bank yourself using the official number provided on your bank card.
