Nizhny Novgorod hotels welcomed nearly 2 million guests in a year.

      June 19, 2026 13:20 Society Almost 1.9 million people used collective accommodation facilities in the Nizhny Novgorod region last year. Compared to the previous year, this figure increased by 5.6%. Currently, various accommodation options are available in the region for tourists and guests: hotels, motels, hostels, sanatoriums, and tourist bases. According to Nizhny Novgorod Statistics, in 2025, the number of such facilities grew by 12.9% compared to 2024. At the same time, the number of rooms increased by 8.8%. Last year, 664 accommodation facilities operated in the Nizhny Novgorod region. They had a total of 20.1 thousand rooms, designed for more than 56 thousand people for simultaneous accommodation. Most guests came to the region for tourism and leisure purposes. More than a quarter of the guests were business travelers. Additionally, 80.3 thousand people used accommodation facilities for educational purposes, while another 60.7 thousand guests stayed in the region for medical treatment. The majority of guests were citizens of Russia. However, over the year, hotels, sanatoriums, recreation centers, and other accommodation facilities welcomed 41.8 thousand foreign citizens.
