The latest newcomer to the Nizhny Novgorod club is 32-year-old midfielder Artyom Timofeev, who has signed a two-year contract. A native of Saratov, he began playing football at the local Sokil school, then trained at the academies of the capital's Spartak and Chertanovo. Timofeev played 32 matches for Spartak's main team and scored 1 goal, becoming a champion (2017) and a bronze medalist (2018) in the RPL championship. The player then played for Krylia Sovetov, Akhmat, and for the last two years for Lokomotiv. In his last season with the railwaymen, he played only one match in the championship and four games in the Russian Cup.
