      The House of National Unity has opened a new season of the summer educational project "House on Vacation." Throughout the summer, various events aimed at instilling values of patriotism, civic responsibility, and respect for the history and culture of Russia will take place in children's health camps in the Nizhny Novgorod region. "The summer educational project has been implemented by the House of National Unity for the fifth year, and each time it generates great interest. During this time, 'House on Vacation' has brought together thousands of children from the Nizhny Novgorod region and young guests from new regions. This year, we have prepared a bright and rich program, combining recreation with benefit through interactive formats of events. Children participate in quizzes, master classes, and open dialogues with heroes of the Special Military Operation, and famous athletes. In the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, we have focused on the multinational culture, traditions, and spiritual values of the peoples of our country," said the head of the House of National Unity, Sergey Fedorov. The new season of the project started in the urban district of Vyksa at the children's sanatorium-educational center "Lazurny." A quiz on folk arts and crafts and a master class on painting on canvases in the traditions of famous Russian crafts: Khokhloma, Gorodets painting, and Gzhel were organized for the children. "House on Vacation" is an opportunity for children not only to have fun but also to immerse themselves in the rich culture and history of our country. The kids were very engaged. When a child not only listens to a story about Khokhloma painting but also takes a brush in hand and tries to create a pattern, theory becomes personal experience. Learning through play and creativity evokes genuine interest and leaves a deeper mark in memory. In the future, when they see Gzhel or Gorodets painting, they will remember this master class," noted the organizer teacher of the "Lazurny" center, Valentina Budey. More than 90 children participated in the event. Each participant created their own original canvas, which they took home as a keepsake. "I really enjoyed participating in the master class. I learned a lot of new things about different types of folk painting, that each pattern means something. And now I have my own painting in Khokhloma style that I made myself," shared 12-year-old participant Anya Ermolina from Sharanga.

      Let us remind you that the "House on Vacation" project has been implemented by the House of National Unity with the support of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region since 2022. A series of interactive educational events is held at children's health camps, where young participants are introduced to the history, culture, sports, and traditions of their small homeland and the country as a whole.
