On June 18, 2026, at 15:00, Society Another case of senseless vandalism occurred in Nizhny Novgorod. The video was published by the city's head, Yuri Shalabaev, on his social media. The footage shows a young man with a swaggering gait and a cigarette in his teeth striking one of the surveillance cameras in the underground passage at the Moscow railway station. The impact caused the device to lose its stable fixation; however, it continued to operate and recorded what happened. The vandal likely expected the camera to stop recording.

The mayor noted that the administration of the Kanavinsky district has already contacted law enforcement agencies.

"The camera was quickly restored by specialists, which once again proved that the consequences of vandalism for city property are always fixable, but for the further trouble-free life of the vandals themselves, it is not a fact," Shalabaev wrote.

It was previously reported that the police became interested in the fire at the Novo-Sormovsky cemetery. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
