The regional stage of the All-Russian professional skills competition "Best in Profession" in the nomination "Seamstress" took place in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The competitions were held at the Nizhny Novgorod Industrial College in Nizhny Novgorod. Representatives from JSC "Meridian," LLC "Meridian," LLC "Brig," and LLC "Zhuychaun Automotive Components Rus" competed for the title of the best seamstress in the region. The contestants competed in knowledge of professional nuances: answering test questions and solving case assignments. During the competition trials, the participants completed a practical task on processing the cut and attaching the cuff of the sleeve. All tasks are as close as possible to real production processes. The quality of work, accuracy of operations, adherence to technology, and production culture were evaluated by an expert commission. The commission included representatives from sewing enterprises, specialized educational organizations, and organizations involved in training personnel for the industry. "The profession of a seamstress requires not only knowledge and skills but also great patience, attention to detail, and true dedication to one's work. For many generations of Nizhny Novgorod residents, it is such specialists who created quality clothing and formed the culture of production. The competition helps maintain a high level of professional skills and enhance the prestige of the profession. It is especially pleasing that last year a representative of the Nizhny Novgorod region became the winner of the federal stage of the competition in this nomination. This confirms the high level of training of our specialists," noted Igor Pantyukhin, Minister of Demography and Human Capital Development of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. According to the results of the competition trials, first place and the right to represent the Nizhny Novgorod region at the federal stage was awarded to Natalia Krainova (branch of JSC "Meridian" in the city of Lyskovo, with 16 years of experience in the profession), second place went to Ekaterina Vassunova (LLC "BRIG," with 15 years of experience), and third place was awarded to Nadezhda Vasilyeva (JSC "Meridian," with 5 years of experience). At the award ceremony, the winner and prizewinners of the regional stage of the competition received well-deserved diplomas and memorable gifts from the organizers. The participants of the competition were also recognized with letters of gratitude for their demonstrated professionalism and involvement. "Behind every quality product is the labor of a person who has mastered their profession to perfection. It is such specialists who shape the reputation of enterprises and the entire industry. The competition 'Best in Profession' allows us to highlight the best craftsmen, support interest in working professions, and show that high professionalism is in demand and receives well-deserved recognition. I am confident that the experience of participating in such competitions becomes an important stage of professional development for each contestant," shared Elena Vidyaeva, acting director of the Nizhny Novgorod Human Resources Center "Work of Russia." Nizhny Novgorod specialists already have successful experience participating in the competition at the federal level. In 2025, representatives of the region became winners and prizewinners in several nominations: Nadezhda Stepanova (LLC "Brig," 1st place in the nomination "Seamstress"), Alexander Petrov (JSC "OKBM Afrikantov," 1st place in the nomination "Miller"), Sergey Snegov (LLC "Gazprom Transgaz Nizhny Novgorod," 2nd place in the nomination "Excavator Operator"), and Oleg Petrov (LLC "Gazprom Transgaz Nizhny Novgorod," 3rd place in the nomination "Bulldozer Operator").
Since 2025, the All-Russian professional skills competition "Best in Profession" has been part of the federal project "Labor Man" of the national project "Personnel," which is implemented by the order of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. The national project also includes federal projects "Labor Market Management," "Active Employment Support Measures," and "Education for the Labor Market." Their activities are aimed at training personnel according to the needs of employers through coordinated work of educational institutions, companies, and the state. Winners of the federal stages of the competition receive monetary rewards: 1 million rubles for first place, 500 thousand rubles for second, and 300 thousand rubles for third. The organizer of the "Best in Profession" competition is the Ministry of Labor of Russia with the support of federal and regional authorities, all-Russian associations of trade unions and employers. The operator of the competition is the All-Russian Research Institute of Labor.
