An extended meeting on increasing the industrial potential of correctional institutions in the Nizhny Novgorod region took place at the base of correctional colony No. 16.

      At the correctional colony No. 16, an important meeting was held dedicated to the development of the industrial potential of correctional institutions in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The meeting was conducted by the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service Viktor Brant, together with the chairman of the regional Legislative Assembly Evgeny Lyulin, the head of the regional organization "Business Russia" Pavel Solodkiy, representatives of the regional Government, and business leaders. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the prospects for growth in industrial production within the penal enforcement system, strengthen partnerships between institutions and enterprises in the region, and seek solutions to current issues of communal and economic support. During the visit, guests familiarized themselves with the infrastructure of the colony: they visited the temple, living quarters, dining hall, and production areas. Special attention was given to the industrial sector, where participants were shown metalworking, stamping, sewing production, food industry, and packaging of finished products. The outcome of the event was proposals for activating cooperation between business and correctional institutions. Among the most promising areas identified were metalworking, woodworking, and food production.
