The Mari transport prosecutor approved the indictment in the criminal case against a 52-year-old resident of the Samara region. He is accused under part 3 of article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (embezzlement of entrusted property). According to the investigation, in 2024, in the city of Kozmodemyansk, the director of a shipping company sold over 150 tons of scrap metal that had formed as a result of production activities. He embezzled part of the funds received from the sale of the metal and disposed of them at his discretion. As a result of his illegal activities, the company suffered damages of more than 800,000 rubles. To enforce the sentence, a lien has been placed on the defendant's car worth more than 1 million rubles. The criminal case has been sent to the Gorniy Mariyskiy District Court of the Mari El Republic for consideration on the merits.
