      Honorary citizen of Dzerzhinsk, participant of the Great Patriotic War Nikolai Kuzmich Rudykh passed away on June 13 at the age of 101. This was reported by the mayor of the city, Mikhail Klinkov. In 1943, at the age of 17, Nikolai Kuzmich went to the front to defend his homeland. He served as a reconnaissance fire adjustment officer in the anti-tank artillery regiment of the Transbaikal Front. For his courage and military valor, he was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree, the Medal "For Victory over Japan," and anniversary awards. After the war, Nikolai Kuzmich dedicated himself to peaceful creative work. As noted by Mikhail Klinkov, the veteran retained an amazing zest for life, kindness, and the ability to see beauty in simple things.

      Until his last days, we saw him as a bright, wise person, wrote the mayor. In 2025, Nikolai Kuzmich was awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the City of Dzerzhinsk."

      The passing of Nikolai Kuzmich is a loss for the entire city. We bid farewell to a person who gave us life and our future. I express my sincerest and deepest condolences, added Mikhail Klinkov.
