      June 14, 2026 10:52 Society Strong rains are expected in places across the Nizhny Novgorod region and Nizhny Novgorod in the next couple of hours on June 14. According to the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Upper Volga Hydrometeorological Center," adverse weather conditions will persist overnight and during the day on June 15. As reported by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region, the likelihood of local flooding is increasing due to the clogging of storm drains and drainage systems. Flooding may occur in low-lying areas, roads, low-water bridges, agricultural lands, as well as disruptions in transport and utility services. Furthermore, the risk of traffic accidents, landslides, and slope washouts is increasing. Drivers are advised to reduce speed, as visibility worsens during heavy rain, road surfaces become slippery, and the likelihood of skidding increases.
