The Nizhny Novgorod Zoo "Limpopo" showcased the first walk of a baby aardvark.

      June 13, 2026 13:33 Society A baby aardvark, born at the Nizhny Novgorod zoo "Limpopo" in early May, went for a walk for the first time. The staff of the institution captured this significant event in the life of their ward and shared the video on social media. "An important event has occurred in the life of our miracle baby - our aardvark went for its first street walk! Of course, the first acquaintance with the outside world was brief for the baby, but how bright it was!" the zoo staff reported.

      Currently, the cub lives separately from its parents and is under close observation by specialists. The zoo reported that the baby feels confident and is gradually gaining weight. For now, specialists cannot say for sure whether it is a boy or a girl. These animals have virtually no external signs that allow for immediate determination of sex. This will become clear later, when the cub grows and strengthens. Earlier, the little aardvark got a new friend - a plush snake.
