They stated that a large logistics center for Wildberries is planned to be built near a residential complex and a school without considering the opinion of the population. According to them, this plot was previously designated for housing and green space, but then the land was reclassified to an industrial category. Residents noted that instead of developing social infrastructure and roads in the area, a warehouse with intensive truck traffic might appear. People are concerned about the deterioration of the environmental situation and worry for the safety of children. Appeals to various authorities, as the applicants claim, have yielded no results. The regional office of the Investigative Committee is currently conducting a procedural check. Bastrykin instructed the head of the Investigative Committee for the Nizhny Novgorod region, Ayrat Akhmetshin, to present a report on its progress and results. The implementation of the instruction is being monitored by the central office of the agency. It is worth noting that this concerns the construction of a logistics complex within the boundaries of Parkovaya, Vysokaya, and Poletnaya streets on the site of a wasteland. The project includes a warehouse with an area of 150,000 square meters with administrative and utility buildings ranging from one to three stories high and parking for 250 vehicles. The creation of up to 7,000 jobs has been announced. The project has caused public resonance. Residents of Novinki have repeatedly expressed their opposition to the construction. In January 2026, they sent an open letter to the founder of the company, Tatyana Kim, stating their disagreement with the placement of the warehouse near their homes. The governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, previously noted that new jobs in the southern part of the region are important for local residents. "We cannot afford to disregard such investors who will play a huge role in the economy of the region," he stated during a live line in the fall of 2025. In early June, the warehouse complex project passed a non-governmental examination.
