The court ordered the demolition of part of the "Camelot" restaurant in Nizhny Novgorod.

      On June 10, 2026, at 12:46, Society The Nizhny Novgorod Regional Court ordered the owner of the building housing the "Camelot" restaurant to demolish the illegally constructed structures on municipal land.

      As reported by the court's press service, on June 9, the judicial panel for civil cases reviewed the appeal regarding the city administration's lawsuit against the owner of the non-residential building, seeking to recognize a number of objects as unauthorized constructions and to have them demolished.

      Previously, the Lenin District Court denied the claims. However, during the appellate review, it was established that the restaurant owner had erected two brick towers and a wooden pavilion on two adjacent plots of land. One of the plots is municipally owned and designated for the placement of a roadway. Moreover, the owner had no rights to use the specified plots for construction.

      The regional court also pointed out that the first instance court relied on an improper expert conclusion. Additionally, it was not taken into account that the disputed objects are located on a plot where the permitted use does not allow for the construction of such structures. According to the appellate court's assessment, their construction violates the rights and legal interests of other parties and poses a threat to the life and health of citizens.

      By overturning the first instance court's decision, the judicial panel concluded that the disputed objects are unauthorized constructions and are subject to demolition. The appellate ruling granted the municipality's claim, annulled the Lenin District Court's decision from February 17, 2025, and imposed the obligation on the defendant to demolish the illegally erected structures.

      The appellate ruling came into legal force on the day it was adopted.
