      In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the first stage of a joint project between the Russian Society "Knowledge" and the regional Ministry of Youth Policy, aimed at protecting youth from modern threats, has been completed. Lectures took place in the youth centers of Sarov, Arzamas, Dzerzhinsk, and Bogorodsk. More than 600 students participated in the events. The project aligns with the goals and objectives of the national project "Youth and Children."

      The Minister of Youth Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Svetlana Anufrieva, noted that the development of critical thinking is considered an important element of digital security. According to her, the activities of the All-Russian campaign "Safety Week" contribute to the formation of practical skills for safe behavior and create a foundation for systematic educational work.

      Alexander Mitrofanov, the director of the branch of the Russian Society "Knowledge" in the Nizhny Novgorod region, reported that the goal of the project is to teach young people to recognize attempts at manipulation and provide tools for protection against information threats and fraud.

      During the meetings, lecturers explained what terrorism and information warfare are, how teenagers and youth become targets of influence, and what methods are used for engagement through social networks and messengers. Special attention was given to the spread of false information and fake news.

      Earlier, the Russian Society "Knowledge" launched the project "Knowledge.Safety," aimed at preventing involvement in illegal and destructive activities, countering terrorism and extremism, financial fraud, as well as developing critical thinking and safe behavior skills. Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that terrorism remains one of the serious threats of the 21st century.

      Since 2025, by the order of President Vladimir Putin, the national project "Youth and Children" has been in effect, which continues the tasks of the national projects "Education" and "Science and Universities." It aims to create conditions for the development of talents and self-realization of young people, the construction and renovation of schools, the improvement of teachers' qualifications, and the creation of modern educational infrastructure.
