Residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region have been less frequently imposing self-restrictions on loans.

      June 8, 2026 12:59 Society In May 2026, residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region issued 15.9 thousand self-restrictions on obtaining loans. According to the National Bureau of Credit Histories, this figure was 28.2% lower than the previous month. Most of the restrictions were established through the "Gosuslugi" portal — this method was used by 14.1 thousand people. Another 1.8 thousand residents of the region issued self-restrictions through multifunctional centers. As a result of May, the Nizhny Novgorod region entered the top 5 regions of Russia where the decrease in the number of new self-restrictions was most noticeable. As noted by the marketing director of the NBCI, Alexey Volkov, citizens' interest in issuing self-restrictions is gradually decreasing. In his opinion, this may indicate that most of those who actively wanted to use the service have already done so. Also among the reasons for the decrease in interest are successes in the fight against fraudsters. Overall, across the country in May 2026, 775.5 thousand self-restrictions on obtaining loans and borrowings were established. Compared to the previous month, their number decreased by 27.3%.
