After the collision, the foreign car was pushed onto the stop, where people were standing at that moment. As a result of the accident, three people died—a girl, her sister, and a six-year-old daughter. The head of the family sustained serious injuries and is still undergoing a long rehabilitation course. He is convinced that during the investigation, the legal assessment of the actions of the Honda driver, who significantly exceeded the speed limit at that time, was not fully addressed, and the young man may evade responsibility. The Ministry of Internal Affairs is investigating a criminal case under part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles, resulting in the death of two or more persons through negligence). The regional Investigative Committee has initiated a question before the prosecutor about transferring the case to its jurisdiction. The head of the Nizhny Novgorod Investigative Department, Ayrat Akhmetshin, will report to Bastrykin on the decision made by the supervisory authority and the arguments of the television segment.
