The "BARS-NN" reservists shot down four drones in two days.

      June 4, 2026 18:26 Society Territorial defenders of the mobilization reserve "BARS-NN" destroyed four more drones in two days of duty while repelling attacks on critically important facilities in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported by the military commissariat of the region. The commander of one of the mobile fire groups with the call sign "Oper" noted that the effectiveness of countering aerial threats has increased, partly due to new weaponry. According to him, the equipment is quickly deployed and has high accuracy.

      "During the attack on our enterprise, we neutralized three drones in the shortest possible time," the reservist said.

      Another UAV heading towards a strategically important enterprise was eliminated by another fire group. The reservist with the call sign "Desant" reported that the drone was spotted at a distance of about 500 meters and was flying at an altitude of approximately 30 meters. According to him, the crew opened fire with small arms and destroyed the target. The commander of the UAV counteraction platoon with the call sign "Kom" emphasized that one of the latest attacks lasted more than two days, but all attempts to inflict damage on the fuel and energy enterprise were repelled.

      "The work of mobile fire groups is an important element of defense in the modern air defense system," he noted, adding that the result is ensured by quality training and coordinated actions of the units.

      The military commissariat reminded that service in the reserve "BARS-NN" takes place in the Nizhny Novgorod region and does not involve sending to the area of the special military operation. Recruitment is carried out on a voluntary basis through the military commissariats of municipalities by signing a contract with the Ministry of Defense of Russia. Reservists are provided with monetary support, equipment, and uniforms. During the gathering period, their jobs and salaries are preserved, and life and health insurance, medical assistance, and free meals are provided.

      In addition, additional support measures are in place for participants of BARS-NN and their families by the decision of the governor. Earlier, Governor Gleb Nikitin urged Nizhny Novgorod residents to join the mobilization reserve "BARS-NN."
