Only seven lakes in Nizhny Novgorod turned out to be suitable for swimming.

      June 5, 2026 12:02 Society Swimming is allowed at 11 beaches in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This is reported by the regional office of Rospotrebnadzor.

      Let us remind you that in 2025, there are officially 26 beaches operating in the Nizhny Novgorod region, 14 of which are in Nizhny Novgorod. Every week, specialists organize events to monitor recreational areas and check their compliance with sanitary legislation requirements. In particular, laboratory studies of water quality are conducted in places permitted for swimming.

      Currently, in Nizhny, you can relax at nine beaches: at the Lunskoe and Pestichnoe lakes in the Sormovsky district, at the Bolnichnoe and Sortirovochnoe lakes in the Kanavinsky district, at the PKiO 2 queue lake in the Avtozavodsky district, as well as at both beaches of the Silikatnoe lake in the Leninsky district and the Svetloyarskoe lake in the Sormovsky district.

      In the cities of the region, the beaches at the Yurasovskoe lake in Bor and the Svyatoe lake in the Pushkino settlement in Dzerzhinsk have been recognized as suitable for swimming.
