Nizhny Novgorod builders have been warned about the intensification of tax audits.

      On June 4, 2026, at 16:39, the Builders' Society of the Nizhny Novgorod Region was warned about the intensification of inspections by the Federal Tax Service (FTS). This became known on June 4 at the event "Construction Business in 2026: Where to Find People, Money, and New Growth Points," reports NTA-Volga.

      Tatiana Lobova, founder of LLC "Premier Audit" and member of the Council of the NRO "Business Russia," shared that as a result of last year, about 80% of construction companies incurred losses after being audited by an auditing firm.

      According to her, this is related to the implementation of large-scale tax changes this year, including the increase in the threshold for the simplified tax system (STS), the cancellation of reduced insurance contributions for small enterprises, and the increase in VAT to 22%. Additionally, the sudden intensification of inspections by the Federal Tax Service had an impact.

      As the expert noted, the FTS has begun to monitor "chains" of counterparties in real-time, marking companies according to a traffic light principle—red, yellow, or green.

      Particular attention is paid to so-called "transit" companies, "breakers," as well as the search for "droppers." Upon receiving a notification from the tax service, Tatiana Lobova recommended voluntarily clarifying obligations without waiting for an on-site inspection.

      Furthermore, the specialist advised construction companies to consider the possibility of applying the investment tax deduction on profit tax—both federal and regional. This will help reduce the burden when acquiring fixed assets or software.
