New formats of health check-ups are being implemented in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

On June 4, 2026, 10:08 Society In medical institutions of the Nizhny Novgorod region, new formats of dispensary examinations and preventive check-ups are being implemented. Now, examinations and consultations with doctors can be done outdoors, and families can combine visits to specialists together. On the last Saturday of spring, specialists from City Hospital No. 2 in Dzerzhinsk organized an outreach event in the Central Park of Culture and Leisure. The recreation area became a "health territory" for one day: a preventive point was set up where people could seek help without prior appointment during their walk. Residents of the city took the opportunity to combine leisure with express diagnostics - in just a few hours, medical staff examined about 80 people. Visitors were offered not only to measure their blood pressure. The program included more serious examinations, including bioimpedance analysis, which allows determining body composition and biological age. This format helped identify potential risks: doctors suspected skin neoplasms in seven people during the examination of moles and referred them for further examination. Another 20 participants were recommended for planned hospitalization for in-depth treatment of existing diseases. Medical professionals note that the informal atmosphere adds special value to such events - outreach examinations help reduce stress and change attitudes towards preventive visits to the doctor. In addition to consultations with therapists and narrow specialists, the park hosted first aid workshops. Dzerzhinsk residents were taught how to properly stop bleeding, act in case of loss of consciousness, and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Deputy Chief Physician of City Hospital No. 2 Irina Chernyatina emphasized that the format of outreach medical examinations has once again proven its effectiveness: residents willingly combined walks with health care. According to her, patients will receive examination results in their personal accounts on the State Services portal. A similar approach was applied in Nizhny Novgorod - already within the walls of a medical institution. On Children's Day, the team of City Clinical Hospital No. 39 organized an additional opportunity for parents who came with children to the clinic. While the little patients were being examined, adults could undergo examinations without appointments and unnecessary formalities. In two hours, about 20 people underwent comprehensive diagnostics, including ECG, intraocular pressure measurement, and assessment of external respiration function. Medical professionals reminded participants of the event that children's health is directly related to parents' health, and a responsible attitude towards oneself is the best example for a child. In the near future, all who underwent the first stage of dispensary examination will be invited to a therapist for further examination, including mammography and fluorography. Chief Physician of City Clinical Hospital No. 29, Hero of Labor of Russia Yulia Garevskaya noted that dispensary examination is not a formality, but an investment in the future. According to her, timely examinations allow for the detection of diseases at early stages when treatment is most effective and does not require significant costs or loss of work capacity. She emphasized that all conditions are being created in the region for preventive care, including thanks to the people's program of "United Russia," and such accessible formats help attract residents to take care of their health. Preventive measures align with the goals of the national project "Sustained and Active Life." Preventive medical examinations for citizens over 18 can be conducted annually. Dispensary examinations are conducted once every three years for people aged 18 to 39 and annually for those over 40. Men and women aged 18 to 49 can also undergo examinations for reproductive health assessment. To participate in preventive measures, it is necessary to contact the department or medical prevention office at the place of attachment or submit an application through the State Services portal. The national project "Sustained and Active Life" has been implemented since 2025 by the order of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. It aims to increase life expectancy by 2030 and includes the renovation of clinics, outpatient clinics, and feldsher-midwife stations, attracting qualified personnel, implementing new approaches to the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases, developing emergency care, rehabilitation, research centers, and digitizing the industry.
