The head of MegaFon assessed the effect of the fight against phone fraud.
June 3, 2026 17:32 Society The number of fraudulent calls has decreased by 55% following the introduction of call labeling. This was stated by the CEO of MegaFon, Khachatur Pombukhchan, in an interview with "Russia-24." According to the MegaFon CEO, in 2025, the operator blocked 500 million calls, 2 billion SMS, and identified 300,000 phishing sites and 700,000 infected devices. He added that the introduction of mandatory call labeling is viewed positively by 92% of subscribers, according to VTsIOM surveys. "We developed communication so that people could talk, but now they are afraid to answer unknown numbers," noted Pombukhchan. He added that Russian telecom companies have learned to successfully analyze the behavior patterns of fraudsters, identify calls from criminals and the resources from which these calls originate, and block them immediately. He urged players from other sectors of the economy, including banks, to support this fight. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
