Six teenagers were taken to the police for "catching" in Nizhny Novgorod.

June 2, 2026 18:00 Society In Nizhny Novgorod, an increase in cases of "train surfing" has been recorded on tram routes, reported the Center for Transport System Development. On May 17, an incident occurred on Baranova Street involving tram No. 6. A similar case with the same route was noted last weekend. Another instance of dangerous behavior by minors was registered the day before on tram route No. 7. As a result, Rosgvardiya officers detained six teenage "train surfers." They were taken to the police station. The CRTS noted the increase in such incidents and urged parents to talk to their children about the deadly dangers of "train surfing." Residents were also reminded of the administrative responsibility for such behavior. In the case of minors, parents may also be held accountable for failing to fulfill their duties in raising and supervising their child. If there are signs of hooliganism or threats to traffic safety, qualification under stricter articles may be possible. Passengers are asked to be vigilant: if someone is trying to "surf" on the tram or is already riding outside, it is necessary to immediately inform the driver. The CRTS emphasized that timely action can save lives. It was previously reported that the identity of the "train surfer" from the "Kanavinskaya" metro station has been established.
