It is worth noting that the 2025/2026 season was Alexey Isakov's debut as a head coach in the KHL. He took over the team after a successful stint in the club's system.
Previously, Isakov worked with Chaika, with which he won bronze medals at the youth championship. In the 2024/2025 season, he coached Torpedo-Gorky and led the farm club to victory in the VHL Champion's Cup.
Under his leadership, Torpedo finished the regular season in sixth place and secured early participation in the playoffs. In the Gagarin Cup, the Nizhny Novgorod team passed the first round, but in the second round, they lost to Metallurg in a series with a score of 1:4.
After a bright season, the club extended Isakov's contract for another two seasons. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
