In Nizhny Novgorod, a previously convicted local man gave alcohol to three schoolchildren.

      In the Sormovsky district of Nizhny Novgorod, police held a 49-year-old man accountable for involving minors in alcohol consumption. He bought alcohol for three schoolchildren born in 2010 and consumed it with them at his home. A teenager and the parents of his friends were also subject to administrative proceedings.

      According to the police, the man purchased alcoholic beverages at the request of the teenagers. Later, they drank alcohol in his apartment, including at night. An administrative case was initiated against the Nizhny Novgorod resident under Article 6.1 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation for involving a minor in alcohol consumption.

      Juvenile inspectors drew up an administrative protocol against a 16-year-old teenager. He will be held accountable under Article 20.21 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation for appearing in a public place while intoxicated.

      Additionally, two protocols under Article 20.22 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation were drawn up against the parents of his friends. They are accused of failing to fulfill their duties in supervising children who were in a state of intoxication.

      Materials were also compiled against the parents of all three schoolchildren under Article 5.35 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation. They are accused of failing to fulfill their responsibilities for the maintenance and upbringing of minors.

      The city police department reminded adults of the need to regularly talk to children about personal safety. Parents are advised to know where and with whom their child spends time and to explain the inadmissibility of consuming alcohol, psycho-stimulants, and tobacco products.

      Law enforcement also reminds that children under 16 are prohibited from being unaccompanied by adults in shopping and entertainment centers, and after 10:00 PM — on the street and in public places. It is specifically emphasized that minors are not allowed to be in cafes and points of sale for alcohol and tobacco products.
