The SK wants to take the case of Nizhny Novgorod major Kornilov from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

      On May 27, 2026, at 10:31, Incidents: The Nizhny Novgorod Investigative Committee canceled the decision to initiate a criminal case against 21-year-old Sergey Kornilov, who caused a mass traffic accident while intoxicated. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of Russia.

      A preventive measure in the case of the accident on the Pokhvalinsky descent was chosen as part of the investigation being conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The investigation is currently seeking to transfer this criminal case from the police to the jurisdiction of the Investigative Committee.

      The story of the son of the former head of "Luidor," Kornilov, was previously discussed on a legal program on a federal television channel. It was reported that the court prohibited the young man from using the internet and visiting bars. According to journalists, such restrictions do not correspond to the severity of the incident and the public danger.
