Two Glock pistols and explosives were seized from a resident of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On May 26, 2026, at 10:13, Incidents: Police uncovered the fact of illegal possession of weapons in Vyksa. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Nizhny Novgorod region. According to the agency, at the end of April 2026, information was received by the local police department about the illegal acquisition, storage, and modification of firearms and ammunition. After operational-search activities, officers of the criminal investigation department of the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with the FSB, detained a 51-year-old resident of Vyksa. According to the press service of the regional FSB, during a search of the premises belonging to the Nizhny Novgorod resident, two Glock pistols, 40 grams of explosives, two 9 mm Luger caliber cartridges, nine 9 mm Luger caliber bullets, six 9 mm Luger caliber casings, one blank cartridge, one cartridge for a smoothbore shotgun, a matrix for assembling cartridges, and other devices for modifying and cleaning weapons were found and seized. All seized items were sent for examination to the Expert and Criminalistic Center of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Nizhny Novgorod region. A criminal case has been initiated on the fact of the incident under part 1 of article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - illegal acquisition, storage, and carrying of weapons and ammunition. The maximum punishment under this article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to five years.
