A batch of counterfeit cottage cheese was found in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On May 26, 2026, at 14:27, Society Specialists discovered violations in the composition of a batch of cottage cheese in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported by the press service of the interregional office of Rosselkhoznadzor.

      From May 8 to May 21, employees of the Nizhny Novgorod testing laboratory of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "VNIIZH" examined samples of the product, and in one of them, a discrepancy in the fatty acid composition was found. Such a violation may indicate product falsification or a violation of its production technology.

      The batch of cottage cheese was deemed non-compliant with the requirements of the Customs Union regulation "On the Safety of Milk and Dairy Products." The information has been entered into the automated system "VESTA" and sent to the Rosselkhoznadzor office.
