Sergey Skvortsov signed his first professional contract with HC Torpedo.
Forward Sergey Skvortsov has signed his first professional contract with Nizhny Novgorod's Torpedo. The agreement is for three years. The past season was the debut for the native of Semyonov in the Junior Hockey League. In 69 games, the 17-year-old forward scored 28 goals and made 33 assists, becoming the most productive player of the "Chayka." His plus/minus rating was "+21." Skvortsov also became one of the youngest players to score a hat-trick in the history of the MHL playoffs, ranking third in this statistic. In the 2025/2026 season, he helped Nizhny Novgorod win their third consecutive bronze medals in the MHL. Additionally, he was recognized as the best rookie of the semifinals of the Kharlamov Cup.
"Skvortsov is a legendary name for Nizhny Novgorod hockey, and we are glad to be part of writing a new page in its history. Sergey, despite his young age, has already entered the top three best rookies in the MHL and looked like a leader for 'Chayka' throughout the season. The first professional contract will give Sergey a good chance to debut in the KHL in the new season, to make a name for himself at a high level, and to continue developing his undeniable talent," noted Torpedo's General Director Evgeny Zabuga.
