Nizhny Novgorod residents are expecting 10 days of rain.

      May 25, 2026 17:51 Society Rainy weather has arrived in Nizhny Novgorod, which, according to meteorologists' forecasts, will last for the next ten days. At the end of May and the beginning of June, precipitation of varying intensity is expected, city construction officials reported.

      In the next 1-3 hours, heavy rains and downpours will occur in places across the city and region. The bad weather will continue until the end of the day and into the night of May 26.

      Considering the forecasted precipitation, road and utility services have been instructed to ensure the standby of water pumping equipment. Vehicles have already been dispatched to areas where water traditionally accumulates during heavy rainfall.

      "Specialists are monitoring problematic areas. Road crews have been sent to clear leaves and debris from stormwater drains. This work will be carried out around the clock. Additionally, road and utility services, as well as emergency management staff, are conducting targeted work to respond promptly to residents' requests and eliminate the threat of flooding," said Deputy Mayor Anton Maximov.

      He added that at the request of Mayor Yuri Shalabaev, the situation with flooding is under the personal control of the heads of district administrations. Residents are advised to contact their management companies, homeowners' associations, and district administrations regarding flooding issues.

      Recall that on May 23, the city received about 70% of the average monthly precipitation norm.
