Nizhny Novgorod resident faces a sentence for spreading fakes about the Russian army.

      On May 25, 2026, at 12:31, Incidents: A criminal case has been initiated against a 55-year-old woman in the Kstovo district of Nizhny Novgorod. According to the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region, she is accused of disseminating knowingly false information about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Law enforcement quickly identified the criminal who published a seditious comment about the Russian army. Subsequently, the woman was detained, and a search was conducted at her place of residence. The investigator initiated a criminal case under Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. She faces up to 5 years of imprisonment. Currently, the Kstovo resident is under a travel ban.
