This was stated by the head of the region during a meeting in Nizhny Novgorod, TASS reports. According to Nikitin, the city electric train is part of the route network of the Nizhny Novgorod agglomeration. The project has been developing since 2013. "To build this part of the transport framework, it is necessary to complete the city electric train section from Kstovo to Myza. We are counting on support in this matter, and I wanted to raise it for discussion today at the meeting," said the governor. In August 2022, Gleb Nikitin and the head of the Gorky Railway, Sergey Dorofeyevsky, signed an agreement on the joint implementation of the project to launch suburban electric trains on the route Myza - Kstovo. As the head of the region noted, the project will effectively become a continuation of the Nizhny Novgorod central diameter. It is expected that the launch of electric trains will provide an additional passenger flow of about 1.5 million people. The project is currently developing in two directions - Sormovsky and Prioksky. The Sormovskaya line includes the section from the Moscow railway station to the Dubravnaya station, as well as the section from Pochinki to Varya.
