The Nizhny Novgorod region presented its experience in the use of UAVs in civil sectors to a delegation from Angola.

      On May 21, 2026, at 21:24, Society The Nizhny Novgorod region demonstrated to representatives of Angola promising scenarios for the use of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in civil sectors under real conditions. The demonstration took place as part of the development of international cooperation and the exchange of practical experience in the application of UAS. The presentation was attended by representatives of LLC "UAS", the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "NPC UAS" of the Nizhny Novgorod region, and the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Gorky Tech".

      "The Nizhny Novgorod region is consistently forming an ecosystem for the development of unmanned aviation, uniting technology development, practical implementation of solutions, and training specialists. We are working on the development of the industry based on the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization 'NPC UAS', which was created under the national project 'Unmanned Aerial Systems'," emphasized the Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Maxim Cherkasov.

      The foreign delegation was shown several scenarios for the use of drones that are already in use or have high potential for implementation in civil sectors. In particular, participants were shown the capabilities of UAS for monitoring gas infrastructure and power lines, solutions in the field of aerologistics, as well as the use of drones in agriculture.

      The Executive Director of LLC "UAS", Ilya Ladyka, noted that today the unmanned aerial systems industry is in a stage of active development.

      "The number of scenarios for the use of UAS is constantly increasing, and the unmanned industry is rapidly becoming a reliable assistant for business and the economy, integrating into production and operational processes," he emphasized.

      The meeting participants also discussed opportunities for international cooperation in the field of UAS, including the export of Russian solutions, training specialists, and exchanging practices for the application of unmanned technologies in various industries.

      "Today, unmanned technologies are actively used in the Nizhny Novgorod region in a variety of fields—from industry and logistics to agriculture. The region already has significant practical experience in this area, and we are ready to share our knowledge, competencies, and successful cases with foreign partners," emphasized the project manager of the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Gorky Tech", Kirill Zhilin.

      The demonstration of UAS application capabilities was held at the site of the agricultural holding "Russian Field".

      "Our agricultural holding has been using drones for crop treatment and monitoring their condition for several years, which yields tangible results. For example, at the 'Pavlovsk Poultry Farm' fields, five years ago, the yield of rapeseed was 3.6 centners per hectare, and by the end of 2025, it was almost 32, nine times more! This is a practice that has proven successful in our farms and is worthy of replication, so we were happy to share our experience with colleagues from the Republic of Angola," noted the General Director of the Russian Field Group of Companies, Anton Romanov.
