Andrey Gneushev held a meeting of the commission on the Special Military Operation.

      The First Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Andrey Gneushev, held an expanded meeting of the regional interdepartmental commission to support participants of the special military operation and their families. Issues raised by participants of the special military operation (SMO) and their relatives during field meetings in municipalities were discussed. Andrey Gneushev noted that the practice of field meetings will continue to promptly address emerging issues and improve the quality of assistance provided. The commission's work is coordinated by the regional branch of the "Defenders of the Fatherland" fund with the support of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region. The meeting was attended by the chief federal inspector for the Nizhny Novgorod region, Alexander Murzin, the chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Evgeny Lyulin, and heads and representatives of relevant ministries and departments of the region. Participants discussed the health check-ups for veterans of the SMO, employment issues, education, and retraining. Special attention was given to programs supporting entrepreneurial initiatives of veterans, including the "Your Business" project and the mechanism of social contracts that veterans of the SMO may enter into starting in 2026. Issues of involving participants and veterans of the SMO and their families in sports activities were also discussed. The Ministry of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod region, together with the regional branch of the "Defenders of the Fatherland" fund, is implementing relevant activities. The coordination of sports facilities is carried out by the regional center for adaptive sports "Parus" in Dzerzhinsk. The possibility of organizing cyber-athletics programs for servicemen of the SMO returning to civilian life after injuries, including those using high-tech prosthetics, was also discussed. Evgeny Lyulin emphasized that supporting participants of the SMO and their families remains a priority for the work of the deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Since the beginning of the SMO, a number of support measures have been developed and adopted in the region, some initiatives have formed the basis for federal laws. Among the current tasks are socialization, rehabilitation, and professional retraining of servicemen. At the end of the meeting, Andrey Gneushev presented gratitude from the "Defenders of the Fatherland" fund for assistance in organizing and conducting the interregional comprehensive physical culture event among veterans of the SMO, the "Cup of Defenders of the Fatherland."
